Riot Games officially introduced Harbor to the fans in October 2022 via a trailer. The trailer featured a four-minute action-packed video that depicted Harbor’s journey, from how he got his powers in Mumbai, India to meeting Brimstone in Delhi. The trailer also showed him using his abilities. Notably, Harbor is also Agent 21 in Valorant who was initially referred to by his codename Mage. Following this, Harbor was officially released on 18th October 2022. When it comes to gameplay, Harbor wields water powers on the battlefield to keep the enemies at bay.

What race is Harbor Valorant?
Riot Games officially described Harbor as, “Hailing from India's coast, Harbor storms the field wielding ancient technology with dominion over water. He unleashes frothing rapids and crushing waves to shield his allies and to pummel those that oppose him.” According to the game’s lore, Harbor hails from India and identifies as Indian. His real name is ‘Varun Batra.’ Harbor seems to love cricket and also has an off-road bike that he uses while he goes on long drives and hikes. Riot Games also teased that roadside noodles are among his favorite food.

What role is Harbor Valorant?
Harbor is a controller agent in Valorant. Controllers are experts in slicing up dangerous territory to set their teams up for success. The abilities in their kits usually allow them to assist teammates by cutting off enemy vision, taking control of an area, and forcing enemies into choke points to potentially cause them to make mistakes. Notably, Harbor is the fifth controller agent in Valorant alongside Brimstone, Viper, Astra, and Omen.
As a controller, Harbor has many abilities in his kit that allow him to take control of an area and also deny enemies' vision. His abilities are as follows:

COVE (Q): EQUIP a sphere of shielding water. FIRE to throw. ALT FIRE to underhand throw. Upon impacting the ground, spawn a destructible water shield that blocks bullets.

HIGH TIDE (E): EQUIP a wall of water. FIRE sends the water forward along the ground. HOLD FIRE to guide the water in the direction of your crosshair, passing through the world, and spawning a wall along the water’s path. ALT FIRE while bending to stop the water early. Players hit by this ability are slowed.

CASCADE (C): EQUIP a wave of water. FIRE to send the wave rolling forward and through walls. RE- USE to stop the wave. Players hit by the ability are slowed.

RECKONING (X): EQUIP the full power of your Artifact. FIRE to summon a geyser pool on the ground. Enemy players in the area are targeted by successive geyser strikes. Players caught within a strike are concussed.
Who voices Harbor in Valorant?
As Episode 5 Act 3 was rolled out, Harbor was introduced to the agent pool as the fifth Controller. This agent is brilliantly voiced by Sunil Malhotra. Malhotra is an actor born in New Delhi, India, who later moved to Chicago where he grew up. If you are a League of Legends player, you will notice that a champion in the game has a similar voice and accent to Harbor. That is because Sunil Malhotra previously lent his voice to Akshan in the Riot Games MOBA. Malhotra has also voice-acted in other games such as Halo: Reach (2010), Fallout: New Vegas (2011), Spec Ops: The Line (2012), and many others.

Though Riot Games has not officially revealed the ages of Valorant agents, Valorfeed claims that Harbor is around 30-35 years old. Coming to the agent’s height, in December 2022, Valorant’s creative game director David Nottingham posted an interesting image on Twitter that had the Valorant agents in height order. In the image, we can see that Neon is the shortest and Breach is the tallest of the lot. We also see that Harbor is the fourth tallest agent in the game, only shorter than Brimstone, KAY/O, and Breach.

One Twitter user posted the approximate heights of some agents. Going by that data, Harbor should likely be just over 6’2” feet.
How good is Harbor Valorant?
While it took a good deal of time for players to get used to Harbor’s kit in Valorant, he has become a pocket pick in certain matchups currently. He can be highly effective and efficient on certain maps like Pearl Icebox, Haven, and Fracture.
However, it is up to the player and the team’s composition to make the most out of the agent. Even if players shy away from this controller agent in pubs, he is actively picked in pro play across regions.
